The Metsäliitto Group supports the ten principles of The Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption and is committed to advancing these principles within its sphere of influence.
The Global Compact is a joint initiative launched by the United Nations together with business to advance responsible corporate citizenship. Its ten principles enjoy universal consensus being derived from:
- The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- The International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
- The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development
- The United Nations Convention against Corruption
