To minimise potential environmental and safety risks of raw material, M-real purchases pulp, pigments and chemicals, needed in paper and paperboard making, from suppliers that conduct their businesses in a responsible way, manage their corporate responsibility activities systematically, and share their data on products and performance openly and reliably.
All our mills comply with existing chemical legislation when choosing and utilising chemicals in our production processes. We hold regular discussions with our external material suppliers to verify their REACH preregistration and registration status. A database is maintained on the most important chemicals used in the production process and their key environmental, health and safety information.
