M-real strives to reduce the climatic impact of its activities, particularly by enhancing its energy efficiency. For this purpose, Metsäliitto Group launched a Climate Programme at the beginning of 2008. The purpose is to find synergies and share best practices in order to reduce the impact of the Group’s production units on climate change. The results achieved so far are very promising.
Continuous development and the optimisation of energy efficiency is an increasingly important aspect of our operations. To support management in this area, a certified Energy Efficiency System (EES) was introduced at all production units in 2009.
