Metsäliitto Group, including M-real, complies with the national laws and regulations regarding industrial cooperation and has established the European Works Council (EWC) in order to have a constructive, open and active dialogue with its employees.
The general meetings of the European Works Council are held twice a year. The participating representatives, elected by fellow employees at the units, comprise some 20 employees. They represent six European countries, weighted according to the total number of employees in the respective country. A working committee meets four times a year and stays in touch with company management between these meetings.
