Training and development
Encouraging renewal and initiative

M-real provides its employees with opportunities for competence development and encourages them to maintain and further develop their professional skills. Individual development is monitored and managed through annual performance appraisal discussions.

The production personnel competence is developed by multi-skill training and by encouraging employees to complete vocational degrees. Management expertise is developed in Challenger, Metsäliitto Group’s common management development programme, as well as in our own management training programmes.

Change Workshops

Maintaining motivation, skills and know-how at the workplace has been the key challenge of our personnel and management operations during the streamlining and efficiency-improvement programmes. The work-based change management approach, the Change Workshop method, is applied to help employees readjust to change and to give clarification regarding common operations models, work content and division of labour.

At Change Workshops, employees can actively participate in the development of their own work. They are also encouraged to identify and analyse the development needs that are necessary for M-real to meet the new challenges of the competitive business environment.
