Occupational safety and well-being
Emphasis on proactive measures

Occupational safety and well-being at work is regarded as vital to M-real’s profitable and successful operations. We implement the Metsäliitto Group’s common occupational safety and well-being (OSW) policy and use an accident, occupational disease and illness absence monitoring system.

Instead of corrective measures, the emphasis is on developing and promoting OSW as well as on the early identification and address of issues that constitute an endangerment to work capacity and safety.

For instance, minor accidents and near misses are recognised and reported, and their causes analysed to further prevent severe accidents at work. Sickness absenteeism is reduced by tackling the reasons for work-related ill-health.
